The key prerequisite is quarter-hourly measurability of electricity consumption, as dynamic tariffs cannot be applied or billed without it. Larger companies with annual consumption above 100,000 kWh already meet this requirement through an RLM meter. For controllability, the coneva SmartBox must also be installed in the distribution cabinet.

Ideal assets for price-optimised load shifting include EV charging stations, particularly for fleet operators in logistics, larger corporate EV fleets or municipal utilities with high EV density. Other flexible loads include heat pumps, stationary battery storage systems and refrigeration units.

No, this cannot occur. There is always sufficient electricity available, ensuring full comfort even if load shifting does not take place. For example, an EV will continue charging even if the user does not follow the price signals of the tariff. However, only adherence to the price-optimised charging plan reduces electricity costs. If users do not follow the recommendations reflected in the variable tariff, they will not achieve savings.

coneva offers the Flex EMS in the role of an energy supplier. The coneva Flex tariff combines coneva’s technology and energy management expertise with the required energy market processes. coneva provides the energy management system that performs the optimisation and load shifting. You must switch from your current supplier and sign a supply contract with coneva. This all-in-one package provides commercial and industrial customers with a fully integrated solution.

The contract for coneva Flex EMS runs for 2 years and can be terminated with 3 months' notice to the end of the month.

For customers with PV self-consumption, the Flex tariff optimises only the remaining electricity demand. PV generation is forecast and integrated into the optimisation.

Electricity is purchased on the EPEX SPOT exchange (https://www.epexspot.com/en). This is the European electricity exchange where hourly and quarter-hourly contracts are traded. This enables price signals to be passed on. You have the option of canceling your electricity contract on a monthly basis after the first contract month has expired. This gives you the flexibility to observe the electricity market and switch to a futures market product (fixed price) if necessary.
