coneva Load management

Our charging solutions are intelligent energy management systems based on load management as a core function and allow flexible adaptation to individual needs. Features include dynamic load management, PV surplus charging, and electricity price exchange-optimized schedule-based charging.

Load management features

Not only do our solutions give you full control over your power management, but you can also rely on reliable and advanced technology that enables efficient and cost-effective use of your charging stations. Layering of the different features is possible at any time.

Functions and Benefits

In static load management, a fixed maximum power is distributed to the charging stations. The connected charging stations are controlled via the coneva SmartBox. The charging stations are controlled independently of the available capacity at the grid connection point

Static load management

The charging power of the electric vehicles is adjusted in real time to the current consumption of the building and the maximum grid connection power. Staggered and/or throttled charging of electric vehicles ensures compliance with the maximum grid connection power (avoiding power outages) and/or defined peak loads (avoiding excessive costs).

With the VIP function, selected charging stations or specific RFID cards can be charged preferentially (with higher priority). In case of a necessary limitation of the charging power, VIP charging sessions are supplied with the highest possible charging power, while the other sessions are regulated.

The smart grid interface uses reduced grid fees through grid-serving control in accordance with §14a EnWG. The charging management system can help avoid overload situations in the distribution network by allowing the network operator to control the available connected load.

Schedule-based load management takes into account the power procurement model with time-based tariffs and the spot market (day-ahead). This feature ensures that the electricity needed for charging is procured at the optimal price by taking grid charges and electricity prices into account when creating the charging plan.

In more complex systems, cascade load management ensures that the maximum load is not exceeded at bottlenecks within existing subnetworks (bad point). Thus, in addition to the grid connection point, the charging points are also controlled in cascades at other weak points.

PV optimization enables preferential charging of vehicles with locally generated electricity from photovoltaic modules. If more energy is generated than needed, the surplus charge can provide the excess solar power in the electric vehicle.
